The Year Two Course
This
course adds a lot of new practical and theoretical
material, to give a comprehensive and in depth understanding
of shiatsu. There is approximately 6 hours of homework per
week, including giving 2 or 3 shiatsu treatments, reading
and written work.
Aims - by
the end of the the Year Two course, students are
able to make clear Oriental diagnoses or health assessments
of their clients, and can give appropriately tailored shiatsu
treatments to a wide range of people.
Format -
the Year Two course consists of 10 weekends, some of which
are 3 days long, plus two Clinic Days chosen from a number
over the year. It totals 27 days or 180 hours of tuition.
Syllabus
- In depth diagnosis of health
conditions including visual, questioning, listening, back
and hara diagnosis.
- The extended meridians of the
Masunaga system of Zen Shiatsu.
- Comprehensive point location
and usage, including the Yu and Bo points.
- Refinement of energy sensing
and further study of kyo and jitsu with appropriate treatment
using tonification and sedation techniques.
- Shiatsu for the Conception and
Governing Vessel meridians.
- Further study of food energetics
and the giving of dietary and life style recommendations
to clients.
- Simple counselling skills for
use with shiatsu.
- Western physiology of the main
systems of the body.
