Year Three Course
The
main emphasis in the final year of training is on
integrating and applying all the subjects studied, to develop
deep and very effective shiatsu. The benefits of shiatsu
for a wide range of health conditions is studied in detail.
Students are also given the information and skills necessary
for settin gup their own professinal shiatsu practices.
There is approximately 6 hours of homework per week including
shiatsu treatments, preparing case histories and other written
work.
Aims -
students will become highly effective, confident shiatsu
practitioners, able to give deep healing in their treatments,
and to give help with a wide range of physical and emotional
health problems.
Format
- 10 weekends of tuition, including some of 3 days, plus
2 Clinic Days chosen from a number over the year. A total
of 29 days or 200 hours of tuition.
Syllabus
- Further study of the location, functions
and use of the Zen Shiatsu meridian system.
- Further development of intuitive diagnostic
methods.
- Specific treatments and recommendations
for reproductive, sketetal and muscular, nervous, immune,
respiratory, circulatory and digestive problems.
- Shiatsu for emotional release and
healing.
- Deeper study of giving dietary, exercise
and life style recommendations to clients.
- Refinement of touch as the central
skill and art in giving shiatsu.
- The client-practitioner relationship,
including professional responsibilities and ethics, contra-indications,
and communication skills.
- Chakra Breathing as a tool for self-transformation
and to use with clients.
- Guidelines for setting up your own
practice.
- Western pathology of a range of common
health problems.
