Practices
shiatsu in Portsmouth and teaches Beginners Shiatsu Community
Courses
I am practising in the Portsmouth and South-East
Hants area and also teach Beginner's Shiatsu and Shiatsu in the
Community Courses in conjunction with Portsmouth City Council
and the E.U.'s Global Fund.
My shiatsu story began around 1997 when I became ill with what
was subsequently diagnosed as ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Shiatsu, along with my own approach to life change and positive
health and wellbeing practises, helped me to recover and in 1999
I began year one of the Shiatsu course at the Devon School of
Shiatsu, really to continue to help myself to recovery. I never
expected to even complete the first term, so was very surprised
and pleased that my health recovered enough to allow me to complete
the practitioner training.
I qualified in shiatsu at the Devon School of
Shiatsu in 2001, gaining my MRSS status from the Shiatsu Society
in 2003 and am now a trainee teacher registered with the society.
I love working as a shiatsu practitioner
- I have a passion for sharing it with clients and students, many
of whom are low income members of the community for whom shiatsu
is a real life line and an empowering tool for self-help. Perhaps
best of all, it keeps me fit and well too!
