| Welcome to the Devon
School of Shiatsu
Established
in 1985, the Devon School of Shiatsu
was one of the first schools offering in depth training
in shiatsu in the UK. It has the ideal setting for study,
based in its own rooms in a converted barn and stable in
peaceful Devonshire countryside.
Shiatsu is a very versatile
therapy.
Its core is hands on bodywork, working with the Ki flow through
the meridian and chakra systems to bring about physical and emotional
healing, but it also encompasses giving dietary, exercise and life
style recommendations to aid clients’ healing, and simple
emotional counselling.
Shiatsu is now becoming widely recognised
as a valuable
therapy for a wide range of physical and emotional health problems.
As well as being used in private practice, it is being increasingly
used within the NHS in areas like pain management, support for people
with HIV, AIDS and autism.
Our students and graduates
often say that studying to become a shiatsu practitioner was a life
changing experience, and the best thing they have done in their
lives. As a practitioner the journey of discovery, self-healing
and growth continues, along with the satisfaction of helping many
people in their healing journey....
