Introductory Course

Our introductory weekends, evening courses and workshops are ideal for anyone wanting to find out more about shiatsu; many people also use them to decide if they want to study shiatsu as a career on our three year practitioner training course.

Practical and hands-on
  • Learn to give a simple full body shiatsu which you can give to friends and family.
  • How shiatsu can be used for your personal development.
  • The history and philosophical basis of shiatsu.
  • A taste of a new career in Complementary Medicine.
Upon completion of the Introductory Course, students will have sufficient knowledge and ability to give a full body shiatsu treatment to family and friends. Full course notes are provided.

Introductory Evening Classes

We regularly run a six week course of Evening Classes in Exeter and in other parts of Devon and Cornwall - please keep an eye on the website for courses running later this year.

A One Day Workshop, Evening or a Weekend Class?

The different formats of Introductory Classes appeal to different groups of people, depending on where they live (close to Totnes or Exeter) and also what fits best with their lifestyles. The syllabus is the same whichever course you choose, the only difference will be the amount of supervised hands-on practice. Students may benefit from taking the course over a six week period, as they will have plenty of time to practice with friends and family then ask questions at the next weekly class or alternatively a one day workshop or a weekend course offers the opportunity to fully immerse oneself and practice the shiatsu techniques with assistance close at hand. All courses provide comprehensive course notes.
