Strong Personal Support
All
the teachers and staff at the school care deeply about supporting
students, both in their learning of all the knowledge and skills
involved in shiatsu, and in their own personal development during
the three years of training. The following structures are built
into our courses to ensure a high level of support.
For each of the years
of the three year training, there is one main teacher who teaches
regularly throughout the course, called a Course Tutor. This Course
Tutor follows the individual progress of students, gives one-to-one
tutorials, and gives individual feedback and encouragement when
necessary.
In each year’s
course, the teachers are helped by two Teaching Assistants,
who are past students of the school now in practice. They offer
extra guidance during practical sessions, can give help with theory,
and also give one-on-one practical tutorials to students.
The size of classes
is usually between twelve and sixteen, allowing plenty of personal
guidance from teachers, as well as close, supportive relationships
to develop within the group of students.
Delicious vegetarian wholefood lunches
are provided as part of the course, not only providing healthy
food, but also the chance to eat and socialise with each
other at lunchtimes.
